Our approach
We approach complex engineering challenges from a system-level perspective and initiate by understanding the operational need, stakeholders, constraints, interfaces and critical performance objectives, before moving into solution design.
Systems Engineering and model-based methods are used to structure requirements, define system boundaries, develop architectures and establish traceability between needs, functions, interfaces and verification activities.
Where quantitative analysis can improve a decision, we use system modeling, simulation and optimization to explore alternatives, evaluate sensitivities, understand uncertainty and support engineering trade-offs.
Our work is based on the principle that complex systems should not be optimized as isolated components. Their value and performance depend on how technologies, people, software, physical assets and operational processes interact.
Our typical engineering process follows a clear sequence:
Understand -> Structure -> Architect -> Model -> Evaluate -> Integrate -> Verify
The objective is to reduce uncertainty early, identify integration risks, before they become costly and provide technical, traceable and implementable solutions.

Our services
Systems Engineering & Architecture
Support stakeholder and operational needs analysis, requirements engineering, functional decomposition, system architecture, interface management, System-of-Systems analysis, trade studies and verification planning.
The objective is to maintain a clear connection between the problem being addressed, the system requirements, the selected architecture and the evidence required to verify that the solution performs as intended.
Model-Based SE
Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering, where it improves system understanding, communication and traceability.
This includes functional and logical modeling, architecture models, requirements-to-design traceability, interface modeling, lifecycle information management and digital engineering workflows.
The purpose of MBSE is not simply to produce diagrams, but to create a structured engineering representation that supports analysis, collaboration and decision-making throughout the lifecycle.
Systems Modeling & Optimization
Develop fit-for-purpose analytical, parametric and simulation models to understand system behaviour and support engineering decisions.
Applications include performance modeling, sensitivity analysis, uncertainty assessment, Monte Carlo analysis, design-space exploration, trade-space analysis, constrained optimization and multi-objective optimization.
These methods can support system sizing, architecture selection, resource allocation, performance assessment and the evaluation of competing objectives such as cost, mass, energy, availability, risk and operational performance.
Public Sector, Infrastructure & Construction
Support public-sector organizations, infrastructure stakeholders and construction companies where multiple technical disciplines, operational requirements and technologies must be integrated.
This may include requirements definition, technical specifications, system architecture, technology assessment, digital monitoring concepts, IoT and sensor integration, safety and risk analysis, decision-support systems, smart infrastructure concepts and verification or acceptance planning.
Our role is not to replace specialist civil, structural or MEP engineers, but to provide a system-level perspective that helps ensure different disciplines and technologies operate coherently.
Integration, Verification & Technical Assurance
the transition from architecture to an integrated and verifiable system through interface definition, integration planning, verification strategy, compliance assessment, technical risk analysis, readiness assessment and engineering reviews.
The focus is on identifying interface and integration risks early and maintaining traceability from requirement to objective evidence.
Applied Intelligence & Decision Support
Explore data-driven and AI-enabled methods where they can provide measurable engineering value.
Applications may include engineering knowledge retrieval, AI-assisted requirements analysis, sensor and data fusion, predictive models, anomaly detection, technical recommendation systems and engineering decision-support tools.
Our emphasis is on bounded and explainable applications of AI that support engineering judgement rather than replace it.
R&D & Technology Development
Support organizations developing new technologies, prototypes and collaborative R&D programmes through feasibility studies, technology assessment, concept development, prototype architecture, TRL assessment, system integration planning and technical work-package support.
Our role is particularly relevant at the interface between research and product development, where emerging technologies must be transformed into structured and verifiable engineering solutions.
Our emphasis is on bounded and explainable applications of AI that support engineering judgement rather than replace it.
About us
We are an independent engineering practice focused on the architecture, modeling, integration and optimization of complex systems and work at the intersection of Systems Engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering, System Modeling & Optimization, Autonomous Systems and Applied Intelligence.
Our contribution is centered on problems, where multiple technologies, engineering disciplines, interfaces, operational constraints and stakeholders must work together as one coherent system.
Our experience spans applications in defence and security, maritime and subsea systems, unmanned and autonomous systems, aerospace, public-sector projects, infrastructure, construction, industrial engineering and research & technology development.
We support organizations in translating operational and business needs into structured technical requirements, system architectures, engineering models and practical implementation paths.
Lymeris, tech is led by Konstantinos Lymeris, an Unmanned Systems Engineer with experience in system architecture, requirements engineering, multidisciplinary integration, verification, sensor integration, unmanned systems and applied R&D.
He holds an MSc in Automation Systems & Robotics from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), with academic work focused on autonomous underwater navigation, localization and sensor fusion. His professional experience also includes collaboration with public-sector organizations and construction companies, supporting technical requirements definition, technology assessment, system concepts and the integration of engineering and digital solutions.
Based in Athens, Greece, we support projects and engineering collaborations across Europe and globally.
Our philosophy is straightforward:
Understand the system. Structure the complexity. Engineer better decisions.

From Operational Need to Verifiable Requirement
Why good system architecture starts with correctly defined needs and verifiable requirements.
MBSE Beyond Diagrams: Building Traceability from Requirements to Verification
MBSE creates value when models connect engineering decisions—not when they simply replace documents with diagrams.
Verification vs Validation: Are We Building the System Right—and the Right System?
Verification proves compliance. Validation proves usefulness. Both should influence the system from the beginning.
